A bittersweet reminder of shattered peace
The weight of words, a heavy heart does bear
A lament for what could have been, beyond repair

Hunger wafted in our blood
Poverty is the residence lived
Vacating homeland in fear
Where shall this soul bear

In foreign lands, a refugee’s plight
A distant dream, of home’s warm light
The heart, a heavy burden does carry
Longing for peace, in a world so merry

Chased wherever dwells the eyes
Comforted by the sun’s ray in is
While night fall as dangerous
Wolves, rescued by mosquitoes

In this twisted world, where fears unfold
Safety’s a luxury, few can hold
The sun’s warm touch, a fleeting grace
